Wire Tensile Testing Machine Strand Steel Wire 1000kN φ6-φ21mm ASTM A416 HUT106DJ
HUT series type DJ servo-hydraulic universal testing machine is specially designed with extra-long jaw face, specifically used for stranded wire tensile test. It is designed with up-mounted actuator structure. Bidirectional differential cylinder provides bidirectional control of tension and compression in one single space.
Clearance-free structure and actuator up and down to adjust the test space offers easy operation and high efficiency. This machine is mainly used for tensile test of metallic materials. It provides closed loop control of constant force, constant displacement and constant extension, smoothly switching among them.
Test results can be automatically calculated and be able to printed and exported.

ASTM A370 - Standard Test Methods and Definitions for Mechanical Testing of Steel Products
These test methods2 cover procedures and definitions for the mechanical testing of steels, stainless steels, and related alloys. The various mechanical tests herein described are used to determine properties required in the product specifications. Variations in testing methods are to be avoided, and standard methods of testing are to be followed to obtain reproducible and comparable results. In those cases in which the testing requirements for certain products are unique or at variance with these general procedures, the product specification testing requirements shall control.
A7. METHOD OF TESTING MULTI-WIRE STRAND FOR PRESTRESSED CONCRETE
A7.1.1 This method provides procedures for the tension testing of multi-wire strand for prestressed concrete. This method is intended for use in evaluating the strand properties
prescribed in specifications for" prestressing steel strands."
A7.2 General Precautions
A7.2.1 Premature failure of the test specimens may result if there is any appreciable notching, cutting, or bending of the specimen by the gripping devices of the testing machine.
A7.2.2 Errors in testing may result if the seven wires constituting the strand are not loaded uniformly.
A7.2.3 The mechanical properties of the strand may be materially affected by excessive heating during specimen preparation.
A7.2.4 These difficulties may be minimized by following the suggested methods of gripping described in A7.4.
